Leconfield Jillaroo &Jackaroo 11 days School is set in the rugged New England ranges in
northern N.S.W. 50Ks from Tamworth.
The property has been in the Skerrett family for 100 years, and the school has been up and running for 30 years. Students come from all over the world to experience life on a genuine working cattle station. They come here to learn how to become Australian cowboys and cowgirls, and we help you find jobs on the land and secure their 2nd year visa.
At the end of the school, you will receive a reference, of what you achieved at the school.
During the course you will learn about, horses; bridling, saddling, riding, grooming and natural horsemanship. You also learn a lot about cattle; milking, mustering, yarding, branding, drenching, and sorting. Working with sheep is also a part of the experience; mustering, sorting and wigging.
You will learn, whip cracking and lassoing, fencing and general maintance knowelege of
different fencing techniques and their purposes.
Brian Skerrett has been involved with horses all his life. Leconfield is one of the few places that still use horses for the running of the property.
Leconfield is a good and fun place where you not only learn the ways of the land, and you can relax around the campfire with a cold beer :)
